EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO 60th ANNIVERSARY OF LEVON ANANIAN
OPENS AT NATIONAL LIBRARY OF ARMENIA

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, NOYAN TAPAN. The exhibition opened on
November 14 at the National Library of Armenia (NLA) is
dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Levon Ananian, the Chairman
of the Writers' Union of Armenia (WUA), a publicist, translator.
His all collections, articles published in press, photos, copies
of translations of his works into Russian, English and other
languages are involved in the exhibition.
In NLA Director Davit Sargsian's words, owing to his
organization skill, L.Ananian was able to gather the literary
family, to bring the literature created in Diaspora and Armenia
to one field as well as formed a general all-Armenian literary
atmosphere. In his words, L.Ananian returned the Writers' Union
its one-time status with energetic and persistent seccession.
L.Ananian's fellow-writer friends also mentioned that the
"Garun" (spring) magazine escaped during the fierce years of
1990s owing to L.Ananian. In their words, if L.Ananian did not
exist, "Garun" enjoying great popularity today and forming
literary thinking" would not exist, either.
L.Ananian was rewarded with Hakob Meghapart's medal for
services to the Armenian literature, book publishing, propaganda
of book and on the occasion of his 60th anniversary. The medal
was given to him by NLA Director D.Sargsian. The WUA Chairman
was given diploma of the RA State Language Inspectorate as well.
