YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. According to the State Register Agency of Legal Entities and Private Businesmen of the RA Ministry of Justice, since early 2006, 2,228 legal entities and 5,816 private businessmen (including family enterprises) got registered, with their total number making 53,444 and 59,830 respectively as of October 1, 2006. According to the RA National Statistical Service, 52,280 legal entities and 70,822 private businessmen were registered as of October 1, 2005. Over the past year the number of legal entities grew by 2.2%, while that of private businessmen declined by 16.6%. In 2006, 1,216 legal entities and 18,441 private businessmen were liquidated. Investments of 15 bln 178 mln drams (about 35.3 mln USD) were made by the legal entities registerd in 2006. Investments of 668.47 mln drams were made in 120 enterprises founded by foreign legal entities and citizens, investments of 342.28 mln drams - in 112 joint ventures.
