YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The middle term estimation conference on the "Quality of Education and Conformity" credit program taken place on October 11 was dedicated to estimation of the educational reforms in Armenia. Those responsible for the education sphere of the country and representatives of international structures engaged in education issues participated in the conference. In words of Levon Mkrtchian, the RA Minister of Education and Science, the goal of the program "Quality of Education and Conformity" started from 2004 is to direct the education system of Armenia towards modern conditions of globalization, demands of "knowledge economy." 19 mln of the education credit money at size of 45 mln dollars allocated by the World Bank was given to implementation of this program. Minister L.Mkrtchian mentioned that creation of educational system of comprehensive education, subject education programs and new systems of estimation, introduction of information communication technologies in the system of comprehensive education, teachers' professional advanced training, management and effeciency of the system of comprehensive education are among the most important points of that program consisting of four sub-programs. Rather voluminous works were done in the direction of all those points and, as of the moment, the situation is estimated as possible. In the Minister's words, reforms found place in the sphere of comprehensive education on the way of passing to the 12-year educational system, acception of the educational system will be completed only in the case when high school functions will be settled what must become a bridge for secondary education and professional education. The Minister also mentioned that information about all those reforms must be accessible to the society for all those doubts and distrusts which arose towards educational reforms are blown over.
