YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, NOYAN TAPAN. A conference dedicated
to problems of modern media and new interstate relations in the
Caucasian region will take place on September 29 at the State
Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU). University Rector
Armen Darbinian informed journalists about this at the September
28 press conference. In his words, leading Russian journalists,
political scientists, economists from Russia, Georgia,
Azerbaijan and Armenia, in particular Georgian and Azerbaijani
experts Mamuka Areshidze and Rauf Rajapov, will take part in the
conference organized on the joint initiative of RAU and
Ria-Novosti state Russian agency.
In the words of Alexander Bobinski, Vice-Chairman of the
Ria-Novosti agency, the main goal of conference participants
is to extend information exchange, as many problems emerge
"just because of lack of understanding, lack of objective
information."
