RA OMBUDSMAN PRESENTS A NUMBER OF ISSUES RELATING TO HUMAN
RIGHTS IN COUNTRY TO PACE DELEGATION

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Ombudsman Armen Haroutiunian met on September 26 with Mikko Elo, Georges Colombier, the Rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Secretary Despina Chatzivassilio and the delegation accompanying them. They are on a visit in Yerevan on September 25-29. As Noyan Tapan was informed by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Ombudsman's staff, the Ombudsman presented during the meeting statistic data of the received applications-complaints as well as a number of issues relating to the human rights in the country. During the discussion, responding a question of the delegation members concerning the draft law on making amendments and additions to the RA law "On Television and Radio" proposed by the RA Government, Armen Haroutiunian expressed anxiety that it didn't undergo processes of the necessary public and state instances' awareness what is of a supporting meaning for strengthening democracy in the country. At the end of the meeting the interlocuters expressed readiness to cooperate with the RA Ombudsman.
