COOPERATION MEMORANDUM SIGNED BETWEEN EIF AND EGYPTIAN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. A memorandum on
cooperation was signed between the Enterprsie Incubator
Foundation (EIF) and Egypt's Chamber of Information and
Communication Technologies (CIT) during the first
Armenian-Egyptian business forum on information and
communication technologies on Septemer 22. The document was
signed by EIF Director Bagrat Yengibarian and the Egyptian
delegation's head, CIT Chairman Magdi Kamal Khiralah.
Heads of many Armenian and Egyptian companies - leaders in
the ITC sector participated in the forum held on the initiative
of the EIF within the framework of IT Month in Armenia. The
companies - forum participants are engaged in software design,
ICT services delivery, electronic trade, the use of ICT
developments in e-governance and e-health and other spheres.
M. K. Khiralah noted in his speech on e-health that over
30% of patients in the US and Canada are wrongly diagnosed, and
in the last two years 18-28% of patients in these countries were
administered wrong drugs. The damage as a result of incorrect
diagnoses amounted to 19 billion dollars. According to the
speaker, 98 thousand people died due to wrong diagnosing and
treatment in Egypt in the same period. In his words, the
application of information technologies in the health sector may
help reduce these indices significantly.
