"ARMENIA: 15 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE" PHOTO EXHIBITION OPENS

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. A photo exhibition
entitled "Armenia: 15 Years of Independence" opened at the
"Moscow" cinema on September 17 within the framework of events
dedicated to the 15th anniversary of independence of Armenia.
It's organized by the Armenpress information agency.
Works of 18 photographers, including Martin Shahbazian,
Zaven Sargsian, Feliks Arustamian, Hrayr Hawk, are presented at
the exhibition. All stages of improvement of the
newly-independent Armenia are pictured in photos.
In Armenpress Director Hrayr Zorian's words, 109 photos
chosen from more than 400 works by an open competition are
presented at the exhibition. In his words, this exhibition was
organized in Moscow as well, within the framework of the year of
Armenia in Russia. It is involved in the program of events of
the year of Armenia in France as well.
The presentation of a triglot, Armenian, Russian, French,
coloured album of the exhibited photos followed the opening
ceremony of the exhibition. The RA Government fulfilled
financing of publication of the album.
In words of Karine Khodikian, the RA Deputy Chairwoman of
Culture and Youth Issues, "with help of this album, our future
generations will see in years what kind of way of independence
we had, full of difficulties, but at the same time, full of
victories."
The photo exhibition entitled "Armenia: 15 Years of
Independence" will be open till September 24.
