PRESENTATION OF "BRIDGES OF TALES" BOOK TAKES PLACE AT
KHNKO-APER CHILDREN'S LIBRARY

YEREVAN, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. The presentation of the
"Bridges of Tales" book published within the framework of the
"Caucasus: Cultural Dialogue" program took place on May 22 at
the Yerevan Khnko-Aper children's library. Estonian, Latvian and
Lithuanian tales are presented in the book. They were
illustrated by children of secondary schools of Armenia, Georgia
and Azerbaijan.
As Karine Danielian, the Secretary General of the UNESCO
Armenia National Commission mentioned, a competition was
announced in three countries before starting publication of the
book. The goal of the competition was to reveal how Armenian,
Georgian and Azerbaijani children imagine the world of tales of
Baltic countries. K.Danielian also mentioned that Armenian,
Georgian and Azerbaijani tales were published in the Estonian,
Latvian and Lithuanian languages before that.
90 children from 3 schools of Yerevan participated in the
competition announced for illustration of the "Bridges of Tales"
book. Diplomas and presents were given by the UNESCO Lithuanian
National Commission to children rewarded the first, second and
third prizes in their countries.
