"ARMENIA-IRAN. FRIENDSHIP OF CHILDREN" WEEK OPENS IN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, NOYAN TAPAN. A week "Armenia-Iran.
Friendship of Children" was opened on February 21 in Yerevan.
The works of the children (gobelin, painting, embroidery,
doll-work) of the Iranian Children Development Center "Kanun"
were presented in the foyer of the "Arno Babajanian" concert
hall. On the same day, a display of Iranian children's films was
organized for the Armenian children, and in one of the foyers of
the concert hall a lesson of needlework skills was held.
The Armenian-Iranian children's week is held within the
framework of the cooperation memorandum signed on June 2005
between the Ministries of Education and Science of the Islamic
Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia. Sergo Yeritsian,
the RA Minister of Education and Science, mentioned that this
children's week will greatly promote the friendship deepening of
the two countries. "This event is important in a way that in the
future the cooperation between the two countries will continue
and develop through this children", the Minister mentioned.
Alireza Haghighian, IRI Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to Armenia, greeting those present at the event
once more appreciated the close friendship of countries having
different civilizations. According to the Ambassador, this
dialogue sows kindness and love, that the whole humanity needs
today.
Reza Atufi, Adviser on Culture of the Iranian Embassy,
mentioned that the children's week will complete the cooperation
between the Embassy of Iran and a number children's institutions
of Armenia.
