COAF'S PROGRAM TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN ANOTHER 5 VILLAGES OF
ARMAVIR MARZ

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Starting February, the
Program on Rural Area Comprehensive Development will be
implemented in the villages of Myasnikian, Daralik, Shenik,
Argina and Lernagog of Armavir marz. The Chairman of the
Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) Garo Armen stated on February 1
that the program's 2006 budget for these 5 villages makes about
3 mln USD.
He said that since 2004 the Fund's program has been
successfully implemented in the same marz's village of Karakert
with its population of 5,000. According to G. Armen, the Karakert
school, its outpatient clinic and two kindergartens have been
repaired and furnished. The program's implementation allowed to
increase the number of schoolchildren by 10% and that of
children going to kindergarten by 21%. In his words, nearly 1.5
mln USD has already been spent on the implementation of the
program in Karakert.
It was noted that COAF is implementing the Program on Rural
Area Comprehensive Development with the assistance of a number
of international structures, including the World Bank, USAID,
and UNICEF.
