YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Ministry of Labor and
Social Issues has worked out RA bill "On Voluntary Work" that
will be submitted to the government in late June. As Vahan Simonian,
Head of Ministry's Labor and Employment Department, informed at
the January 20 discussion of the bill, the necessity of the law
proceeds from the Labor Code, according to which the voluntary work
and work organized for the purpose of rendering assistance isn't
considered illegal.
According to the bill, voluntary work is publicly useful
work done free of charge. Provisions regarding volunteers,
organizations' rights and obligations are stipulated by the
bill. According to it, an organization is obliged to compensate
the grounded expenses connected with voluntary work.
In V.Simonian's opinion, the adoption of the law won't
contribute to growth in concealed employment as the bill
exactly mentions the spheres where a voluntary activity can be
implemented. Besides, according to the bill, commercial
organizations and those pursuing profit aren't allowed
to carry out a voluntary activity.
