YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. The main problem of the RA Ministry of Education and Science in 2005 was development and providing of the normal activity of the system. As Minister Sergo Yeritsian informed on January 17, works of introducing the new state educational order of the comprehensive education have started. Subject standards and programs for the Armenian Language and Literature, Mathematics and Informatics were worked out corresponding to new standards of the secondary education. According to the Minister, 7203.25 mln drams (about 16 mln US dollars) was allocated from the state budget to imlementation of construction works in the sphere of comprehensive education by which 8 schools were built, 147 ones were fundamentally restored. 50 schools were built, 111 ones were fundamentally restored by co-financing programs of (9.25 mln dollars) of the Social Investments Fund of Armenia. S.Yeritsian mentioned that a number of supreme issues were defined for the sphere this year. Particularly, increase of quality and accessibility of the pre-school education, reforms of the sphere of comprehensive education, development of primary and middle professional education, stage by stage introduction of the credit system in the institutions of higher education. The RA Prime Minister estimated the Ministry's 2005 activity "satisfactory."
