YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The 27th world championship arm wrestling was held in Tokyo. About 600 sportsmen of 34 countries participated in this. 6 representatives of Armenia were among them, 4 of them became prize-winners of the championship. Vazgen Soghoyan had a special success. Participating in the 60 kg weight category, he won all rivals in the right hand exercises, and was awarded golden medal. Vladimir Mnatsakanian of the 65 kg weight category won two silver medals. He was the second in right hand and left hand exercises. Armen Chapukhian of 90gk weight categiry won the third place in left hand exercises and was awarded bronze medal. David Nersisian of the 80 kg weight category was awarded bronze medal. He participated in veteran sportsmen's struggle. Arsen Gabrielian of the super heavy weight category, the Chairman of the Arm Wrestling Federation of Armenia, who became world and Europe championships prize-winner many times, was satisfied with the 4th place this time.
