YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, NOYAN TAPAN. On October 25, the RA NA discussed in the first reading the draft on making amendments and additions to the law "On Social Security of Servicemen and Their Family Members." According to them, particularly the size of pensions defined for ordinary servicemen became invalid or of families of servicemen died while participating in martual actions defending the RA as well as implementing service duties are raised by 20% starting from January 1, 2006. Besides, the size of the monthly assistance given to people of the above-mentioned category for making use of gaz, water services and transport will also be raised: this will be fixed 6 thousand drams instead of acting 5 thousand drams. 2 thousand drams instead of present 1 thousand will be given to every person of more than 5 member families of died servicemen. According to A.Vardanian, the RA Minister of Labour and Social Issues, there 8130 invalid servicemen, 7500 up to 5 member-families of those died, 275 more than 5 member-families of those died, only in the defence sphere. The draft total only by raising pensions makes 275 mln drams, by increase in monetary compensation makes 240 mln drams.
