GENERAL EVENT OF WRITER'S 70TH ANNIVERSARY TO BE HELD ON DEC 2

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The
jubilee commission preparing the celebration of Hrant
Matevosian's 70th anniversary conducted by RA Prime Minister
Andranik Margarian discussed the process of fulfilment of the
commissions of its previous sitting, as well as implementation
of future events envisaged by the annual program at its October
25 sitting.
As Noyan Tapan was informed by RA government's Information
and Public Relations Department, it was reported that the most
part of more than 20 events have been already carried out and
spade-work is being done in the direction of carrying out the
events of jubilee celebration final stage. In particular, the
staging of the "Neutral Zone" play is coming to an end at
Yerevan Hrachya Ghaplanian Dramatic Theater. Its premiere will
take place on October 30. The designing of the memorial to be
set up in writer's yard, a house-museum, publication of a
two-volume work, organization of a conference are underway. They
will be completed in the envisaged term.
By commission's decision, the opening of a monument to the
writer will be held on November 12 in Vanadzor and the general
event - jubilee evening dedicated to Hrant Matevosian's 70th
anniversary, will be held on December 2 at Alexander Spendiarian
National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
