YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The photoexhibition under the title "Italy: Unique Country. A Century of Photographs: 1900-2000" that opened on October 19 at RA Foreign Ministry is the continuation of one-month Days of Armenian-Italian Friendship being held in Armenia. The exhibition prepared by the "Alinar Brothers of Florence" organization presents the way of development of Italian photography during a century. As Armen Bayburdian, RA Deputy Foreign Minister, mentioned, the exhibits tell the history of Italy in the period of 1900-2000, starting from country's non-defiled landscapes, history of architectural monuments, transport means, industry, crafts, fashion, foodstuffs, school, art, medicine up to pictures of new technological and scientific achievements. According to Armen Bayburdian, exhibition's first and foremost goal is to cross the borders of the world by means of the language of photographs. Marco Clemente, Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, mentioned that more than the half of the days of Armenian-Italian Friendship have passed and the results surpassed his expectations. "Today as in the first days the halls are overcrowded, which is the evidence of the great success of this festival," Ambassador Clemente highlighted. In the affirmation of the Italian diplomat, this photoexhibition reflecting the one-century life of Italy in all its manifestations will newly appreciate Italy's picture in Armenia strengthening the contacts that acquainted Armenia with the Italian culture. 240 colored and black and white photographs by 140 photographers presented at the exhibition were taken from Alinar museum and archives, as well as from Italian and foreign museum collections, immediately from their authors. This exhibition was presented in more than 50 countries of the world.
