GOTEBORG, AUGUST 4, NOYAN TAPAN. Both the male and female teams of Armenia played unsuccessfully in the 4th round of the European Team Championship in Goteborg. The meal team was defeated by the Dutch team - 1.5-2.5. Levon Aronian, Rafael Vahanian and Ashot Anastasian drew, while the team leader Vladimir Hakobian lost the game. The female chess-players of Armenia suffered a defeat from the Ukrainian team with the score 1-3. Lilit Mkrtchian and Lilit Galoyan ended in a draw, whereas Elina Danielian and Siranush Andreasin were defeated. After these defeats in the 4th round, both the male and female teams yielded their positions - the men placed 10th to 15th with 5 points, and the women - 10th to 18th with 4 points. The French male team and the Romanian female team with 8 points each are in lead in the points table. In the 5th round, the Armenian male chess-players will compete against the team of Serbia-Chernogoria, and females - against the Greek team.
