"against" votes. Only L.Ananian's candidature was nominated for
the post of the Chairman of Writers' Union of Armenia.
The Union members said that they appreciate Levon Ananian's
work though he also had some faults during these 4 years. The
majority of Union members emphasized that it's time that
L.Ananian should speak about the literary process as no
literature is created by only organization work.
The reelected Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia
mentioned that he would like a competition to be. "If someone
submitted his program I would vote for him." According to him,
all those intending to nominate their candidatures didn't want
to enter this competition as they weren't sure that the writers'
community would support them.
Election of administration of the Writers' Union of Armenia
was held, as well as the revised variant of regulations of
Writers' Union of Armenia was adopted. According to the new
regulations, henceforward the elections of Chairman of the
Writers' Union of Armenia will be held once in 5 years against
the previous 4 years.
Before the elections of the Chairman and administration of
the Writers' Union of Armenia the writers made speeches and
reports on the current state of the Armenian literature.
