YEREVAN, April 9 (Noyan Tapan). The list of the scientific and
cultural programs implemented with support of the Armenia Foundation
was replenished with two other programs: the introduction of AREV
system for children with weak eyesight and deaf children, as well as
the "Cultural Crossroads" program. This information was provided by
the Public Relations Department of the Foundation.
According to the press release of the Foundation, the first
computer class under the AREV system was opened at Yerevan Special
School N14 for Children with Weak Eyesight. Due to this sound program
worked in the Armenian language, the alumni will find it easy to work
with computer, use the Internet, read books, and watch information in
Armenian.
Scientists of the Yerevan Research Institute of Mathemathical
Machines headed by Arman Kuchukian elaborated the system for free.
Technical means necessary for the introduction of the AREV system
were purchased with the support of the "Armenia" Foundation.
According to the "Cultural Crossroads" program, the classic and
modern Armenian literature will also be presented to the foreign
readers with their poetry and prose found in the website of the
"Garun" ("Spring") magazine. Their works translated into English
will create an opportunity both for the Diasporan Armenians and
foreign readers all over the world to read and get acquainted with
the valuable pages of the Armenian literature.
