Cyprus and Armenia ‘shared values’

Published on October 16, 2010 CyprusMail- PRESIDENT of the Armenian National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan on an official visit to Cyprus yesterday referred to the shared values between Cyprus and Armenia, in his meeting with the Mayor of Nicosia, Eleni Mavrou. Accompanied by the parliamentary delegation of the National Assembly, Abrahamyan visited the town hall of Nicosia for a meeting with Mavrou. Their meeting highlighted the common values between the two countries as well as the need to strengthen collaboration between them. In light of this Mavrou reassured the National Assembly speaker of the very important contribution that the Armenian community makes to the development of the city. As part of his official visit, Abrahamyan was given a tour of Ledra Street, all the way down to the Green Line, where he was briefed on the plans for the restoration of the buildings down Ledra Street which Mavrou explained have been left in disrepair due to the 1974 Turkish invasion. Abrahamyan wished Mavrou soon to be the mayor of a reunited capital. Abrahamyan and his delegation also paid a visit to the Armenian Primary School Nareg, in Nicosia.
