Yerevan,September 28 – Today the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ashotyan awarded VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian with the Golden Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science, in recognition of the significant contribution of the Company in the sphere of education and science. Besides its proven leadership in the market, VivaCell-MTS is also Armenia’s pioneer and leader in corporate responsibility, and in particular, in the scale of programs aimed at supporting the sphere of education. Armen Ashotyan appreciated the efficiency of VivaCell-MTS’ performance model, stating that the Ministry also adheres to the same principles. In his speech Ralph Yirikian thanked Armen Ashotyan for the award, noting that such an evaluation of the Company’s activity commits to believing in the principles of corporate responsibility even to a greater extent. “Over several years the spheres which need special support were in the focus of attention of VivaCell-MTS, such as: culture, education, health, environment and science,” noted VivaCell-MTS General Manager. “We believe in the future of our country, however it cannot be the best if the core, that is the education of the younger generation, is not provided at a proper level,” added Ralph Yirikian. Already 32 higher education institutions are collaborating with VivaCell-MTS in the frame of the Career Development Program. During more than 1 year period of the program implementation, more than 4400 students from local and foreign universities have participated in guest lectures, more than 140 students were hosted by the VivaCell-MTS School, and 150 students undertook their internship at various departments of VivaCell-MTS to get professional guidance of the professional staff of the Company.
