Prime minister underlines importance of using Intel
corporation's experience for establishment of venture fund in
Armenia

YEREVAN, JULY 1, NOYAN TAPAN. Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan received the ex-president of Intel corporation board of
directors Craig Barrett on June 29. He congratulated the former
president of Intel corporation board of directors on receipt of
RA President's award for valuable contribution to the IT sphere
on the global level.
The interlocutors discussed joint project implementation
possibilities, in particular the pace of joint action under the
World Ahead program, which has school computerization and
teacher training components.
Tigran Sargsyan attached importance to establishing an
Intel corporation-supported research center in Armenia which was
welcomed by Mr. Barrett. Speaking about his recent stay in the
Silicon Valley on the sidelines of the ArmTech 2009 forum, the
prime minister spoke about the activities of venture funds,
underlining the importance of using Intel's experience for the
establishment of a venture fund in Armenia.
The press service of the RA government reported that views
were exchanged on the government-approved concept of electronic
society. In this context, Tigran Sargsyan said that an
advisory body operates under the prime minister-headed
council on e-governance and invited Mr. Barrett to take part in
its activities.
