TIRANA, 23 JUNE, NOYAN TAPAN: On June 21, Armenia’s Ambassador Gagik Ghalachyan presented his credentials to President of Albania Bamir Topi. During the ensuing private talks, the parties exchanged views on directions for strengthening bilateral relations. According to a press release by the Department of Press and Information of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the same day Armenia’s Ambassador had meetings with Albania’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Albanian Parliament Fatos Beja and other officials. During the meeting with Meta, Ghalachyan attached importance to the functioning of the mechanism for consultations between the foreign affairs ministries of both countries which will provide the opportunity to predetermine perspectives for development of bilateral cooperation and undertake the establishment of a legal-contractual field. In a conversation with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Albanian Parliament, the parties attached importance to the development of inter-parliamentary relations and discussed opportunities for inter-parliamentary cooperation in multilateral formats.
