A Letter of Intent was signed today, on December the 21st, between the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia (NCFA), represented by CEO Arman Khachaturyan, the Ministry of Economy of RA, represented by Deputy Minister Ara Petrosyan, the National Statistical Service of RA (NSS), represented by NSS President Stepan Mnatsakanyan, USAID Enterprise Development & Market Competitiveness Project (EDMC), represented by Chief of Part Bruno Cornelio, and GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Program, represented by Armenian Team Leader Irina Kausch. 
 
The purpose of the survey is to collect reliable information on passengers arriving to and departing from Armenia that would characterize tourists in terms of geographical distribution, purpose of travel, gender and age, types of organization of travel, and structure of expenditures.
 
Based on the collected data the final report will be developed to analyze the Armenian tourism sector, develop tourism state policy, conduct the tourism statistics, and to design competitive tourism products.
 
The year-long survey will be conducted in four border-crossing points at Bagratashen, Meghri, Ayrum, and Bavra, as well as in Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Gyumri’s Shirak Airport. 
 
The total cost of the project is USD 150,000.
