The final event of the 2011 Earth Day Campaign - symbolic tree planting dedicated to the 19th Anniversary of the liberalization of Shushi was implemented at Yerablur. Every tree to be planted at Yerablur will be named after a fallen warrior who sacrificed his/her life during Karabakh War. The preparatory works for the tree planting started in March. For two months the staff members of the organizers as well as many students from Yerevan State University have cleaned the territory and prepared it for the tree planting. It has been already the 4th year that the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) in cooperation with its General Partner - Armenia’s Leading Mobile Operator VivaCell-MTS has implemented this huge Campaign dedicated to the Earth Day. This year the Campaign launched on the 1st of April under the slogan “Plant your Tree in your Country”. A number of tree plantings both in Yerevan and the regions were implemented in the frames of the Campaign. The territory of the tree planting at Yerablur will be cultivated by the fertilizer made by recycled stalks of Tsitsernakaberd Memorial April 24th flowers.
