Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia currently implements “YIA Ruler” project from April 22-26 in the frames of EU “Youth in Action”, the participants of which are young people, trainers, and coordinators of different youth projects arrived from France, Romania, Belarus, Croatia, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia.
European Union’s “Youth in Action” project ended in December 31, 2013, which was the largest project for youth, youth organizations and professionals working in youth sphere in general. Within its seven-year activities, “Youth in Action” gave opportunities to thousands of youth from EU countries including Armenia to acquire a wide range of knowledge and skills, to visit new countries and learn about each other’s culture, history and traditions.
“YiA Ruler” project, organized by Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia (FYCA) Armenia’s largest youth organization, aims to assess with the help of specialists the impact on development of youth movement and youth organizations’ establishment. This project is also a unique opportunity for young leaders and coordinators of various youth projects to come together under one roof, to sum up YiA 7 years’ activities, to share skills and experience which will result in development of future international projects’ implementation.
Welcoming the guests Atom Mkhitaryan, the president of Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia made a comprehensive historical overview on formation, further development stages and the geo-political situation of Armenian youth movement; he also introduced six countries’ achievements of EU Eastern Partnership in the frames of YiA project. Due to the surveys conducted by A. Mkhitaryan, during the last two years the EU has funded 594 international projects in Eastern Partnership countries with a total budget of 12.8 million euro. In absolute numbers Georgia is the leader, followed by Armenia and then, by Ukraine. According to the numbers of implemented projects Azerbaijan is the penultimate one, leaving behind only Belarus.
The organizers will present the project outcomes and research data to EU ERASMUS PLUS Agency, the information will be disseminated through the Internet as well.
