Minister of Economy receives Kirill Kornilov, the Eastern Europe/Asia Regional Manager of the IBMcorporation

On December 2 Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian received Kirill Kornilov, the Eastern Europe/Asia Regional Manager of the IBM (International Business Machines) corporation.
The meeting was also attended by Naira Nikoghosyan, Head of IT and Innovation Department of RA Ministry of Economy;BagratYengibaryan, Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation; Gayane Harutyunyan; Head of IBM client center and Coordinator of the Project of Innovation Center Establishment in Armenia; Artak Ghazaryan, Chief of USAID Pension Reform Implementation Program (PRIP).
Karen Chshmaritian congratulated Kirill Kornilov for signed memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia. Pursuant to this document, the parties intend to explore the possibilities for the introduction of technologies and computing systems in the social sector, and to work out the best options for their application for a socially oriented country. Minister of Economy noted that Armenia’s economic development policy relies on knowledge and innovation, and the Ministry is ready to discuss future cooperationwith IBM Corporation.
Thanking the Minister for acceptance and for congratulation, Kirill Kornilov, the Eastern Europe/Asia Regional Manager of the IBM corporation noted the company continues its cooperation with Armenia, in particular, project of establishing IBM innovation center in Armenia is being currently implemented, which will contribute to which will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of technologyand implementation of research activities.
At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to continue implementation of the project of establishing IBM innovation center in Armenia, as well as consider long-term future joint projects and initiatives with IBM.
