Through the housing project financed by VivaCell-MTS and implemented by the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia 27 homes were built and/or renovated in Aygepar, Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Movses and Vazashen villages of Tavush region in 2014-2015. The Grigoryans live in the borderland village of Aygepar always feeling the danger from enemy but never questioning the place they live and create. The Grigoryans are a small family – the spouses and their daughter. The lack of home kept them back even from thinking of having a second child. “For six years we lived with my husband's parents, and then rented an apartment. My husband takes up different construction works and I work at school. Our income has never been enough to let us that one day we could have a home. My happiness and gratitude are endless. The fact that now we have both a home and means to renovate it is invaluable,” said Marine, the mother of the family. During the visit to Tavush region VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited the Grigoryans’ house and though the house construction is in process the warmth of the hearth is distinctive. “To bring positive changes one first of all needs to be consistent. That’s the logic behind the housing project implemented in borderland villages. It is crucial from the strategic point of view. With this project we not only support people living in borderland villages, but also disarm the enemy with our willpower and persistence. We are strong together. The people living in borderland villages protect the frontlines of our country, and we should extend a hand to them proving that the rear is strong. We consider this project as one of the most successful ones implemented so far,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said. “Aygepar is quite close to the border and the sounds of firings are permanent here, but the residents continue living in their native village like heroes. During the current year through the housing project a house was purchased for a family, which will also be renovated; another family will have decent housing conditions. By the end of the current year the house construction of both families will be completed regardless of the fires,” Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan said. In 2015, for the housing project VivaCell-MTS invested AMD 100 million (in 2014 AMD 55 million) and the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia has undertaken its implementation. As a result of the partnership from 2007 till the end of the current year the number of the families having their houses renovated or the construction of the half-built houses completed will reach 93.
