Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received survivors of genocides, who participated in the Second Global Forum

On April 23, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received survivors of genocide, crimes against humanity - Youk Chhang from Cambodia, Kabanda Aloys from Rwanda, Nadia Murad from Iraq, who are in Yerevan to participate in the Second Global Forum Against the Crime of Genocide.
 
Expressing gratitude for the participation in the Forum, Minister Nalbandian commended the presence of prominent genocide scholars, political and public figures, artists, and, particularly, genocide survivors in the Yerevan Global Forum.
 
Minister Nalbandian attached significance to the joint efforts of the international community for the prevention of genocides, elimination of the consequences. The Foreign Minister emphasized that the Global Forum, held in Yerevan for the second time, has become an important international platform for the fight for prevention of genocide and crimes against humanity.
 
Nadia Murad presented the atrocities committed against the Yazidis in Iraq by the terrorists, the story of barbaric killing of her family. Nadia Murad requested Armenia’s support for raising of international awareness on the issue. Minister Nalbandian reassured that Armenia will continue its efforts to raise awareness about the violence against Yazidis in international platforms.
 
The participants of the meeting highly appreciated Armenia’s leading role in the prevention of genocide in the international arena. Edward Nalbandian informed the guests about Armenia’s initiatives and efforts in this direction.
