On this special day, International Children’s day, we’re happy to share with you all the various activities that TUMO has prepared for its students this summer. TUMO Summer will consist of dozens of learning labs, events, projects and a concert.

 

Learning labs led by international industry leaders have always been a special part of TUMO’s educational system, and this summer their number will hit its peak. 34 professionals from across the globe will be visiting all four TUMO centers in Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri and Stepanakert. Such leading professionals as Yelena Geodakyan from The Simpsons, Lily Abagyan from Apple Inc., well-known Lebanese street-artists Ashekman, Ubisoft’s Arman Akopian from Montreal, Grigor Atanesyan from Esquire Russia and many (many) more will pass on their knowledge and experience in the fields of animation, game development, creative writing, drawing, programming, art and even design thinking to our thousands of TUMOians.

 

Another upcoming project stands out: TUMO is excited to partner with the Nvak music camp. Developed by singer/songwriter Tamar Kaprelian, Nvak is an intensive annual music program for teens and young adults (social media: @nvakfoundation, @tamarkaprelian). The mission of the program is to forge professional relationships between Armenia’s youth and the musical tastemakers of the world. Over the course of the program, TUMO teens will have the chance to participate in a learning lab led by such talents as Grammy Award winning producers and songwriters David Hodges and Ben Moody of Evanescence fame, and even Tamar herself. The program will be implemented with the generous support of AGBU. Attached are the bios of these prestigious music camp leaders.

 

TUMO is also hosting summer events for the public: This year, July 3rd is Vardavar  in Armenia. Together with the whole country, TUMO will be celebrating the day across Tumanyan Park with Vardavar-themed activities, competitions, photo-booths and live music.

 

There’s still more. Every year TUMO organizes a big concert in Tumanyan park dedicated to the center’s anniversary. This year TUMO turns 5, a special occasion that needs a special concert to celebrate. Ara Malikian and band are happy to oblige and will be rocking the Spanish violin at Tumanyan Park.
