We expect to complete the talks between Armenia and the European Union on the new framework agreement in near future, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian stated on Saturday at the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU and Eastern Partnership member-states in Bratislava.
The meeting was attended by High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, as well as Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, the Armenian MFA press-service reports.
Speaking at the meeting, Edward Nalbandian noted: “The four stages of the talks on the new Armenia-EU framework agreement were successfully held. The next stage will take place this month; we expect to complete the talks in the near future.”
"During the period after the Riga summit, Armenia joined a number of EU programs, including COSME and Horizon 2020. We expect Armenia to become a member of Creative Europe program during the current year and the talks on the agreement regarding Common Aviation Area to begin," the Armenian FM noted.
Touching on the visa regime liberalization, Nalbandian stressed: “We welcome the intention of the Slovakian presidency and EU member states to attach special attention to the liberalization of the entrance visa regime. We think that it is high time to launch a dialogue with Armenia on the liberalization of the visa regime.”
