Sergey Smbatyan and John Malkovich on the same stage

On October 21, 22, 23 the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia Sergey Smbatyan headed the concert program entitled “An evening with John Malkovich” at Teatro Coliseo (Buenos Aires/Argentina). On October 26 one more concert is scheduled at Teatro Independencia in Mendoza (Argentina) with Sergey Smbatyan’s participation.
The world-famous actor John Malkovich presented works by Ernesto Sabato and Pablo Neruda accompanied with Concerto for Piano and String orchestra by Alfred Schnittke. Well-known musicians - pianist Anastasia Terenkova and cellist Nina Kotova performed as soloists.
An interesting format of the concert presented a mixture of music, literature, recitation and performance of the great actor. It is noteworthy, that this is not the first collaboration between Maestro Smbatyan and John Malkovich. They performed on the same stage in 2015 in Seoul.
John Malkovich is a famous Hollywood actor, producer, director, screenwriter, who, after his first role (1978) appeared in more than 170 films, performed in many theatrical plays. Malkovich is the laureate of many prestigious awards.
