According to some sources the number of drug users reaches 650000 in Russia and experts think that nearly 2,5 million people use drug in Russia. On Wednesday, coming to this problem, the RF president Dmitriy Medvedev informed the authorities about the new strategy to struggle against drug abuse. To prevent drug abuse and to undertake measures RF president gave a number of recommendations to the government according to which a drug user must judged and his treatment must become an alternative punishment. So, the aim of the strategy is not to arrest but to make the drug user be treated.
