The Orchestra of Komische Oper Berlin was headed by Sergey Smbatyan

On 9 July, 2017, Sergey Smbatyan, the principal conductor and artistic director of State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, performed together with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin. The concert was organized within the framework of Choriner Opernsommer festival. It’s a very prestigious festival held in Germany with 50 years history. The festival takes place in cloister of Chorin Abbey in Chorin based in 1258. This architectural monument is considered a place where many cultural events take place. The Choriner Opernsommer festival hosts very famous artists and orchestras from all over the world.
The program of the concert included the No. 9 Piano Concerto of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and No. 3 Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven. The soloist was famous German pianist Martin Stadtfeld, the fourfold Echo Klassik prize winner. This was the first cooperation of the conductor and the Orchestra.
