YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, NOYAN TAPAN. Events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Khachatur Abovian's birth took place at the University of Tartu, Estonia on October 15. Armenian Ambassador to Estonia Ashot Galoyan participated in the jubilee events. A conference on the life and creative activity of K. Abovian was held at the university, with reports made by member of the Estonian parliament Aadu Must, lecturers and students of the University of Tartu. According to the RA MFA Press and Information Department, representatives of the Armenian community in Estonia were present. The participants of the jubilee events paid a tribute of respect to K. Abovian by laying flowers at the monument symbolizing the Armenian-Estonian friendship. Other jubilee events included a concert by pupils of the Armenian Sunday School and a photo exhibition dedicated to K. Abovian.
