YEREVAN, 10 OCTOBER, NOYAN TAPAN. Signing of two protocols
on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations was scheduled for
5:00 pm Zurich time (8 pm Yerevan time). As Head of the ARF Hay
Dat and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan said in an
interview with Yerkir Media television company, there was
information that the Armenian delegation has not arrived at the
place of signing the protocols and remained at the hotel because
the delegation has dissatisfaction and disagreement regarding
the text of a 3-minute statement that Turkey is to make after
signing of the protocols. The Armenian delegation has demanded
that the text be changed. The representatives of the U.S. State
Department are trying to mediate: they went to the hotel to
present a second version of the Turkish statement's text.
The Armenian delegation is headed by Armenian Foreign
Minister Edward Nalbandian and composed of two Deputy Foreign
Ministers: Arman Kirakosian and Shavarsh Kocharian and Secretary
General of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shahen Avagian.
