YEREVAN, MARCH 25, NOYAN TAPAN. No increase of public
transport tariffs is expected from April 1 in Yerevan. As Noyan
Tapan correspondent was informed by Henrik Navasardian, the Head
of Transport Department of Yerevan Mayor's Office, though there
are talks about increase of the tariffs, the companies serving
minibus routes have not introduced applications on tariffs
reconsideration yet.
H. Navasardian said that public transport tariffs are not
only conditioned by the gas tariff, therefore the increase of
gas tariffs from April 1 in Armenia cannot have a considerable
influence on transport tariffs.
It should be mentioned that on March 18, RA Minister of
Transport and Communication Gurgen Sargsian stated at the
National Assembly that a necessity of transport tariffs increase
can emerge as a result of the increase of gas tariffs envisaged
from April 1.
