Lilit Mkrtchian finishes second in European Women Chess

SAINT PETERSBURG, MARCH 20, NOYAN TAPAN. The European Women
Chess Championship finished in Saint Petersburg on March 20. Out
of 167 players, 5 were from Armenia. Lilit Mkrtchian of Armenia
and Tatyana Kozintseva of Russia earned 8.5 points each and
shared 1st-2nd positions. An additional match was held to decide
the winner: T. Kozintseva won (1.5-0.5) and became the European
champion. L. Mkrtchian finished second.
