The Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival is privileged to be traditionally supported by Goethe Institute and Goethe Zentrum Yerevan. A lot of festival initiatives were made possible through their generous support.
Within the frames of the 17th Golden Apricot a German Film Program will be presented. The Program is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Reunification and will consist of 5 films. The Program will be realized within the framework of Golden Apricot festival’s “Support for Cinemas” action which is aimed to support cinemas seriously affected by the pandemic.
The German Film Program will be opened with the Yerevan Premier of the last film of famous German director Christian Petzold Undine from Berlinale 2020 competition. The premier will take place on 9 November at 18:00 in KinoPark.
Christian Petzold's Undine is a poetic modern fairy tale, a tender declaration of love to the city, but it is also a serious reflection on the history of Germany and Berlin.
The other films to be screened within the German Film Program are: Cunningham by Alla Kovgan – a unique 3D documentary about Merce Cunningham - an iconic figure in dance field; Naked Animals by Melanie Waelde, winner of Best First Feature Award at Berlinale 2020: Hambi by Lukas Reiter - a very actual environmental documentary and Father by Srdan Golubovic – an award-winning Serbian-German co-production.
The screenings will be held from 9-26 November in KinoPark and CinemaStar.
As a part of German Film Program, the online talk with Christian Petzold will be organized and will be broadcasted on festival webpage and social media channels to be accessible for wider audience.
It should be noted that this program is being implemented within the framework of the Golden Apricot’s "Support to Cinemas" project.
