In 2023 on December 26th, a souvenir sheet with one stamp dedicated to the theme “World famous Armenians. Aram Khachaturian” is put into circulation.
The postage stamp with the nominal value of 500 AMD depicts the world famous Armenian composer, conductor and teacher Aram Khachaturian (1903-1978).
The postage stamp also depicts the English version of the composer's signature, the logotype dedicated to the 120th Anniversary of Aram Khachaturian, the inscription “Aram Khachaturian” in Armenian and English languages.
The postage stamp was cancelled by the Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan, the Minister of High-Technological Industry of the Republic of Armenia Robert Khachatryan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, the Director of the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum Armine Grigoryan, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of “HayPost” CJSC Artak Ghulyan, the President of the Philatelists’ Armenian Association Hovik Musayelyan.
Aram Khachaturian’s compositions are among the samples of the world musical treasury. The UNESCO places the name of Khachaturian among the most renowned composers of the 20th century, and his “Sabre Dance” of the well-known ballet “Gayaneh” takes one of the first places in the list of the most popular compositions of our age.
