The second President of Armenia, leader of the "Armenia" alliance Robert Kocharian has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court against the Central Electoral Commission. Robert Kocharian is contesting the decision of the CEC through the lawsuit. It is reportedly about the CEC's decision regarding the approval to initiate criminal prosecution against Robert Kocharian on June 17.

 

According to reports from "Pastinfo", the lawsuit was registered in court last night and assigned to Judge Grigor Arakelyan. There is currently no decision on whether to accept the lawsuit for proceedings.

 

It should be noted that criminal prosecution has been initiated against Robert Kocharian regarding a government decision made 22 years ago. Specifically, it concerns a transaction that was approved by the Armenian government in 2004, which has not been contested in any way. Years later, when Robert Kocharian was no longer holding any office, his son, Sedrak Kocharian, purchased a stake in the company for a considerable sum. Now, they are trying to somehow link this to the 2004 transaction. This concerns the "Master Class" tennis area adjacent to the "Orange Fitness" club. Aram Orbelyan emphasized in a conversation with journalists that there is no criminal element in this process; in reality, there is no sales contract, it is a lease, it is about an investment project, and the criminal case is artificial and outdated.
