shantnews.am As a result of the investigative and procedural actions undertaken within the framework of the criminal proceedings being investigated by the Main Department for the Investigation of Crimes Against the State, Constitutional Order, and Public Security of the RA Investigative Committee, factual data have been obtained regarding A.Ch., who, as a coordinator of the "Hayakve" union, in order to obstruct the free exercise of the electoral rights of eligible voters in the parliamentary elections held in the Republic of Armenia on June 7, 2026, traveled in May 2026 and had meetings with officials of another state, during which he persuaded them and motivated them by ensuring the victory of the political force they preferred in the aforementioned elections, to use their official, governmental powers and the influence associated with them, in agreement with the group, to obstruct the free exercise of the electoral rights of eligible citizens of the Republic of Armenia in the parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026, namely, to compel citizens of the Republic of Armenia with voting rights working in those organizations to travel to the Republic of Armenia and vote for the "Strong Armenia" alliance during the parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026, for which an agreement was reached.

 

The conclusion of the expert examination appointed during the pre-investigation of the criminal proceedings confirmed that the person conducting the conversation in the audio recording circulated on the internet is A.Ch.

 

Based on the decision of the supervising prosecutor regarding A.Ch., public criminal prosecution has been initiated under points 5 and 6 of part 2 of Article 43-210 of the Criminal Code (preparation for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights by a group of persons in preliminary agreement using their official or governmental powers or the influence associated with them).

 

A.Ch. has been arrested, and a motion has been submitted to the court regarding the application of detention as a measure of restraint.

 

The pre-investigation of the criminal proceedings is ongoing.
