The court has applied detention as a measure of restraint against Avetik Chalabyan, the coordinator of the "Hayakve" alliance, for a period of 2 months; he has been arrested. This was reported to 1lurer.am by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia:

 

As we have already reported, Avetik Chalabyan was arrested on the morning of June 24.

 

The Investigative Committee has provided details regarding Avetik Chalabyan's case. A criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding the preparation of a case where a group of individuals, using their official or service powers or the influence associated with them, obstructed the realization of electoral rights by prior agreement.

 

The Investigative Committee has obtained apparent factual data indicating that Avetik Chalabyan, the coordinator of the "Hayakve" national civic alliance, traveled in May and held meetings with officials of another state, persuading them to ensure the victory of their preferred political force by using their official, governmental powers and the influence associated with them to obstruct the free exercise of the electoral rights of Armenian citizens in the parliamentary elections on June 7, compelling the owners of business entities operating in that state to send those working in those organizations who have the right to vote to Armenia to vote for the "Strong Armenia" alliance, for which an agreement was reached.

 

An expert examination has confirmed that the person speaking in the audio recording circulated on the internet is Chalabyan. He has been arrested, and a motion was submitted to the court regarding the application of detention as a measure of restraint against him.
