The NSS initiated 573 criminal proceedings in the first half of 2026.
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of the powers vested in it by law, has identified and thwarted numerous cases of serious and particularly serious crimes in the areas of counterintelligence, military counterintelligence, state border protection, and the fight against crime. Necessary operational-investigative measures have been taken to uncover relevant crimes, including the prevention and neutralization of intelligence-subversive, diversionary, and terrorist plans and actions being prepared against the security, sovereignty, and armed forces of the Republic of Armenia by foreign state special services, illegal armed formations, criminal groups, organizations aiming to violently change the constitutional order and seize power, as well as by certain individuals.
