YEREVAN, JUNE 6, NOYAN TAPAN. 31,527 internal tourists (Armenian residents) stayed in shared and individual lodgings in Armenia in the first quarter of 2008. Their number grew by 6.8% as compared with the same period of 2007. According to the RA National Statistical Service, 11,084 out of the total number of internal tourists visited other places in Armenia on business in the period under review (their number grew by 7.9% on the same period of 2007, their share in the total number made 35.2%), 16,218 went for traveling and entertainment (their number grew by 2.4%, share made 51.4%), and 1,013 tourists went for treatment (their number declined by 7.7%, share made 3.2%).
