YEREVAN, JUNE 5, NOYAN TAPAN. By data of the State Register of Legal Entities and Private Businessmen of the RA ministry of justice, 1,199 commercial legal entities and 5,024 private businessmen were registered in January-April 2008. Their total number made 57,452 and 55,535 respectively as of May 1, 2008. By data of the RA National Statistical Service, 54,730 legal entities and 41,695 private businessmen were registered in Armenia as of May 1, 2007. The number of legal entities grew by 5%, that of private businessmen - by 33.19% over one year. 290 legal entities and 533 private businessmen were wound up in January-April 2008. 1,199 legal entities which were registered in January-April 2008 made investments of 8 bln 699.05 mln drams (about 28 mln 216.2 thousand USD). Investments of 7 bln 48.04 mln drams were made in 122 enterprises founded with foreign capital, including investments of 6 bln 942.91 mln drams in 62 enterprises founded by only foreign legal entities and citizens and investments of 105.13 mln drams in 50 joint ventures.
