STATE SHOULD PROVIDE ITS CITIZENS WITH A JOB, 75.5%

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Nearly 25% of Armenian
population or 821.6 thousand are 16-30-year-old people.
According to the Armenian Youth National Report, nearly 22%
Armenian youth is unemployed. 13.2% of them as the reason of
their unemployment mentioned the lack of jobs, 3.6% the lack of
job by their speciality, 1.1% obstacles in the way of being
engaged in entrepreneurship. Nearly 66% of young enemployed
youth is women, 21.9% of unemployed youth has higher education.
62.6% of the respondents is not aware of the State
Employment Service. And only 4.2% of those who are aware of it
knows about the retraining courses organized by the Service.
75.5% of the young participants of the survey considers
that "the state should provide its citizens with a job."
According to young people, education and skilfulness should be
the first condition for being employed for a job. 38.7% of them
is sure that they will have a job ensuring minimum living
standards.
