ARMENIAN AND IRANIAN LIBRARIANS TO START COOPERATION

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, NOYAN TAPAN. The National Library of Armenia and the National Children's Library of Yerevan after Khnko Aper signed cooperation memoranda with the National Library of Iran in July 2007 in Iran. This information was provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by David Sargsian, the Head of the National Library of Armenia. In his words, the above-mentioned memoranda envisage to implement a number of programs on the functions of the library science, including exchange of information, retraining of personnel, bilateral library demosntrations, exchange of books, scientific conferences. David Sargsian mentioned that in the coming October - November an Iranian delegation will arrive in Armenia on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the foundation of the Armenian National Library and, according to him, perhaps the contract on the implementation of the first program will be signed then. Accoring to the preliminary arangement, the first joint conference of the Armenian and Iranian librarians will be held in 2008.
