ISSUES TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN ON MAY 3

YEREVAN, APRIL 27, NOYAN TAPAN. A conference on IT competitiveness issues will be held at Yerevan's Marriott Hotel on May 3. NT was informed from the USAID-financed Competitive Armenian Private Sector (CAPS) Program Office that conference participants will discuss such issues as the correspondence of production processes in the Armenian IT sector with international standards, the developments that have occured in the sector in recent years, preparation for the first all-Armenian high-tech congress "Armtech 2007" in Silicon Valley on July 4-7. Besides, educational and scientific research work currently underway in Armenia's IT sector, as well as issues of certification impact on the quality of IT services and marketing will be discussed. Two big investment initiatives to be implemented in the Armenian IT sector will be presented at the conference. Among the event organizers are the IT Development Support Council adjunct to the RA prime minister, the Union of IT Enterprises of Armenia, "The Internet Society of Armenia" Union, the Entrprise Incubator Foundation, "Armenia 2020" organization and Viasphere Technopark.
