YEREVAN, APRIL 23, NOYAN TAPAN. In case of availability of the political will of the authorities, such conditions can be created in three-five years that will allow to export IT scientific products and educational services of 300-400 mln dollars from Armenia. Armen Abrahamian, Head of the IT Department of Nork CJSC operating in the IT sector, expressed this opinion during a talk with NT correspondent. According to him, in order to create the necessary conditions, the state and the private sector should take measures aimed at development of school and university education on IT, standardization of the process of IT creation in the sector's enterprises and their introduction in other organizations. A. Abrahamian attached special importance to preparation of IT experts, particularly qualified managers. He said that no Armenian higher educational institution currently graduates such experts due to the absence of respective teaching staff. In his words, great attention should be given to Armenian literature on IT industry: in particular, it is necessary to translate into Armenian foreign guidebooks and standards on IT creation, introduction and management of other IT-related processes, as well as other edicational and scientific literature. A. Abrahamian noted that it is not difficult to obtain money for solution of the above mentioned problems: the annual sum invested by donor organizations in Armenia's IT sector is enough (in case of correct spending) for formation, within a year, of the basis to ensure a jump development of the sector.
